Española Island: Discovering Nature’s Marvels in the Galapagos

Embark on an unforgettable day tour to the enchanting Española Island, one of the crown jewels of the Galapagos archipelago. Departing from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, we will navigate for approximately two hours across the pristine waters to reach this remarkable destination.

Punta Suarez: A Wildlife Wonderland

Our first stop on Española Island is the renowned Punta Suarez. This visitor site is celebrated for its astonishing abundance of wildlife. As we traverse the trail leading to the island’s interior, we will encounter a spectacular array of animal species. Our journey will take us through a bustling colony of albatrosses, present from March to December, as well as the charismatic blue-footed and Nazca boobies. Continuing along the trail, we will arrive at the territory of the striking marine iguanas, unique to the Galapagos.

The albatross, the only migrating bird of the Galapagos, graces Española Island with its presence from March to December. The trails here offer a rare opportunity to walk amidst colonies of blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, and the impressive albatross, providing a unique chance to observe these magnificent birds up close.

Gardner Bay: A Paradise of White Sands and Sea Lions

After our adventure at Punta Suarez, we will return to our vessel to savor a delicious lunch before setting sail to Gardner Bay. This breathtaking white sand beach is home to a lively colony of sea lions. Here, you will have ample time to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the bay, whether by snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters, swimming alongside vibrant marine life, or simply relaxing under the equatorial sun.

Gardner Bay’s serene beauty is enhanced by its pristine white sand, where you can bask in the sun and share the shore with playful sea lions. This picturesque location provides the perfect backdrop for both relaxation and exploration.

Activities and Wildlife Encounters

Throughout the day, our activities will include walking, snorkeling (superficial diving), and unparalleled wildlife observation. The diverse fauna of Española Island promises sightings of blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, playful sea lions, marine iguanas, seagulls, the majestic Galapagos hawk, blue sharks, zayapas, sea turtles, and a myriad of tropical fish species.

As the day draws to a close, we will return from the captivating Española Island to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, carrying with us memories of an extraordinary adventure filled with the wonders of the Galapagos.
