Situated on the eastern side of Puerto Velsaco Ibarra, Alieri Hill stands with a maximum elevation of 340 meters above sea level. Abounding in unique plant life, the hill boasts 48 recognized species, among them the Scalesia pedunculata tree, which thrives in February and is currently dwindling to a mere 15 remaining trees. Pioneers once dubbed this species the «unknown tree,» and it was abundant half a century ago. The focal point of Alieri Hill lies in its vegetation; out of the 48 identified species, 56% are indigenous, and 33% are exclusive to the region.
