Guayaquil City Tour, Journey to Cuenca and Visit to Cajas National Park
After a refreshing breakfast, we embark on a short drive to explore the vibrant city of Guayaquil. Our tour begins along the Malecón 2000, a scenic boardwalk that winds alongside the Guayas River. Adorned with historical monuments and bustling with local life, this area provides a perfect introduction to the city’s rich culture. We’ll also visit Las Peñas, a charming neighborhood known for its colorful colonial architecture and thriving art scene.
Following a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, we depart Guayaquil and ascend into the Andean region. The journey offers breathtaking views as we transition from coastal plains to the mountainous landscapes. Our first stop is Cajas National Park, a natural wonderland boasting diverse ecosystems and over 230 lakes. Here, you’ll explore the park’s rugged terrain, lush forests, and unique flora and fauna, learning about its significance as a protected area in Ecuador.
Continuing our journey, we arrive in Cuenca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its colonial architecture and cultural heritage. Check in at your selected hotel followed by a delightful dinner, where you can unwind and prepare for the adventures ahead.
